Aberdeen Country Club and Golf Course in Longs, SC was designed by Tom Jackson in 1989, located alongside the Waccamaw riverfront wildlife preserve, on Highway 9, a few miles from North Myrtle Beach. Formerly called Buck Creek, Aberdeen offers 3 distinct courses, the Woodlands, the Meadows, and the Highlands. Said to have a "Scottish Flair", the course is modeled after the Royal Aberdeen Golf Club. Tall cypress and pines envelope the course and give it a hushed atmosphere - and this extends to the beautiful homes and condos that meander through the greens.
Homes offer beautiful views of the greens and various ponds and creeks that wind through them. HOA fees are reasonable and help to maintain the landscaping, clubhouse, and community pool. Most are ranch style with vinyl siding, and offer extras such as vaulted and trey ceilings, fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs, Carolina rooms, large screened porches, and large windows to enjoy the views.
Most homes are 3 bedroom, 2 bath and are priced around $350-$500,000, although there are some homes with less square footage that are priced considerably less. Loris Middle and High Schools service the community.
Aberdeen also has a couple of condo buildings called Buck Creek Condos that offer the best deals in golf condo living on the Strand.
