News has it that landowners of 500 acres of land off Highway 905 in Longs have applied to develop a new master-planned housing project that could have 974 single-family homes and 318 condos or townhomes. Commercial or retail spots are also included in the proposal. The acreage is near Old Buck Creek Rd, and the new Arbor Glen subdivision.
Whether or not it is approved, this area of Longs is popping up with new home communities faster than anywhere in North Myrtle Beach. It's close enough to the beach to be attractive, yet outside the city limits with lower property taxes and less restrictions. Hwy 905 also provides access to Conway, the county seat.
