North Myrtle Beach Vacation Homes
Beach Houses in Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach are twin cities, but there are some big differences in the neighborhoods and types of accommodations in the two.

Myrtle Beach is older. Traditionally it was hotel after hotel, side by side, and the residential parts were on the outskirts - mostly to the far north, 31st Ave North and on up to the city limits. You don't find many beach houses in Myrtle Beach in the main tourist sections. Surfside Beach is best place on the south end to find a home, and there are plenty of them there.

North Myrtle Beach, on the other hand, is scattered all along its Ocean Boulevard with old vacation rental homes, new luxurious mansion homes, multiple family homes like duplexes and quadra-plexes, and of course condos...both high-rise and low-rise condos.

So North Myrtle Beach houses are plentiful, and very varied. Whether you are looking to buy or rent, you can find something in your price range.

The older, wooden beach houses in North Myrtle Beach are often used for spring breakers, montly rentals, winter rentals, and even owner residences. Oceanfront homes for sale in Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach will be expensive no matter what, but the older and smaller ones may not be out of reach. The newer, big luxury beach homes are usually investment properties, and are managed by property rental companies such as Condolux of North Myrtle Beach. They are usually several million dollars, and in the thousands to rent per week. Move across the street from the ocean and pick an older, but nice vacation rental house in North Myrtle, and you may be able to purchase your perfect vacation home for prices in the mid 100's, and rentals about equal to condos.

Why would you choose a Myrtle Beach beach house over a condo? PRIVACY, for one thing. If you're having a family get-together of 8 or 10 people, one of the beautiful luxury beach homes would be perfect. Split the rental between 2-4 couples, and it's also very affordable. You won't have maid service, but you'll often have your own private pool and jacuzzi. You can turn your music up loud, and let the kids loose. You can swim all night and sleep all day without being disturbed. The bedrooms are usually oceanfront and have private balconies, so each couple can wake to the glorious views and sounds of the ocean and enjoy it together. Yet all can meet for breakfast and have a wonderful family vacation all week.

If you are wanting to buy a North Myrtle Beach vacation home to retire, you can usually make enough on rental income to finance it until you're ready to move in. Insurance is fairly reasonable, and once you are a resident, property taxes are probably lower than what you are paying now, especially if you live in the north.

Either way, a North Myrtle Beach rental homes are a very good option if you have a little more money to spend. And if you don't have to live at the ocean, our neighborhoods are definately a great bargain, and you still live in paradise!
